Heat oven to 375F.
Line pan with foil.
Line foiled pan with saltine crackers, trying to fill entire pan without too many overlaps.
Melt butter and sugar in pot on stove until melted and almost bubbly.
Pour and spread over saltines.
Bake 5-8 minutes until bubbly all over.
Take pan out and before letting cool off, sprinkle evenly with chocolate chips. Wait a few moments, then spread chocolate like butter.
Before cooling, add toppings like nuts, sprinkles, peppermints, etc. If desired. Let cool, and gain 4 pounds before dinner by eating half. Enjoy!
Once cooled, break into pieces and store.
