Christmas Crack

Salty crackers, creamy caramel, topped of with delicious chocolate... be careful not to gain 5 pounds just looking at this!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 sticks Unsalted Butter
  • 1 package Saltine Crackers (enough to line a pan)
  • 1 package chocolate chips (your favorite - dark chocolate, semisweet - whatever you like)
  • splash Vanilla Extract (or some bourbon would be nice) optional

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 375F.
  • Line pan with foil.
  • Line foiled pan with saltine crackers, trying to fill entire pan without too many overlaps.
  • Melt butter and sugar in pot on stove until melted and almost bubbly.
  • Pour and spread over saltines.
  • Bake 5-8 minutes until bubbly all over.
  • Take pan out and before letting cool off, sprinkle evenly with chocolate chips. Wait a few moments, then spread chocolate like butter.
  • Before cooling, add toppings like nuts, sprinkles, peppermints, etc. If desired. Let cool, and gain 4 pounds before dinner by eating half. Enjoy!
  • Once cooled, break into pieces and store.
