Equipment

  • Cast Iron Skillet or Large Casserole Dish

Ingredients

  • 7 Honey Crisp Apples - peeled, cored, diced
  • 1 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Tbsp Cinnamon, plus extra for sprinkling
  • 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Granulated Sugar
  • 3 Tbsp Oats (Regular Old Fashioned)
  • 6 Tbsp Unsalted Butter, softened but not melted.

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375F. Peel, core, and chop up 7 apples and put in large mixing bowl.
  • Sprinkle enough cinnamon onto the apples as your stir so that they are evenly coated. Set aside.
  • In the bowl of an electric mixer, add the flour, 1 tablespoon of cinnamon, the brown and white sugars, and the oats. Give it slow mix to combine.
  • Add the butter and mix all together until well combined into a crumble type texture.
  • Add the apples to your skillet or casserole dish.
  • Using your hands or a spoon, take the crumble mixture and sprinkle on top of the apples. Don't worry about perfection here - just try to get it as evenly around as possible.
  • Bake at 375F for about 40 minutes or until the desired tenderness of the apples is reached and the crumble topping is nice and golden brown.
