Homemade Sloppy Joes

You can most certainly adjust the amount of vegetables you add to make this more or less chunky, but the vegetables sure do add some texture and flavor!

  • Medium - Large Skillet

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 Medium White Onion, diced
  • 1 Medium Green Bell Pepper, diced
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • 1 6 ounce Can of tomato paste
  • 1 8 ounce Can of tomato sauce
  • 3 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 5 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tbs brown sugar
  • 1 tbs Mustard
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Hamburger Buns

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, brown the hamburger meat and onion together. Drain any excess fat/grease.
  • Add the bell pepper, celery, tomato sauce and paste, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, brown sugar, mustard, and red pepper flakes. Stir.
  • Bring to a slow slimmer and reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer until the desired tenderness of the vegetables.
  • Toast the buns if desired, and scoop mixture onto buns.
