Texas Gameday Chili

If you're serving a crowd, then double this recipe. You can also add diced onions, diced green or red bell peppers. This recipe calls for one can of rinsed black beans, but you could also use a can of kidney beans or pinto beans too. Top off with some chopped cilantro. Add a dab of sour cream. Open up a bag of fritos and make yourself a delicous frito pie! Oh I love fall in Texas!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground Beef
  • 1 Tbs Dried onions
  • 1 Tbs Dried garlic
  • 1 Tsp Smoky paprika
  • 3 Tsp Cumin
  • 7 Tbs Chili Powder
  • 1 Tsp Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 Can Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 Can Tomato Sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 Can Black Beans (or other kind is fine)
  • Topping Ideas: Sour Cream, Grated Cheese, Sliced jalapenos, Fritos, Cilantro, Chives

Instructions

  • Brown the hamburger and drain fat.
  • Add the 2 cups of water, the tomato sauce and diced tomatoes.
  • Add all of the spices and mix well on low to simmer for at least an hour.
  • Line up your toppings and allow guests to fix to their liking!
