Y’all. I can’t possible describe how good my house smells right now. There’s hardly anything better than the way baked apples and cinnamon smell. The one exception might be the feeling in your mouth of taking the first bite when they are still piping hot out of the oven. The soft sweet deliciousness paired with the crispy topping. Not only is this dessert soooo sooo yummy – it’s super easy… and healthy.. right???

Fall Apple Crisp
This super easy treat will be sure to please the entire family! Serve over ice cream or even for breakfast!
Equipment
- Cast Iron Skillet or Large Casserole Dish
Ingredients
- 7 Honey Crisp Apples - peeled, cored, diced
- 1 Cup All Purpose Flour
- 1 Tbsp Cinnamon, plus extra for sprinkling
- 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 Tsp Granulated Sugar
- 3 Tbsp Oats (Regular Old Fashioned)
- 6 Tbsp Unsalted Butter, softened but not melted.
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375F. Peel, core, and chop up 7 apples and put in large mixing bowl.
- Sprinkle enough cinnamon onto the apples as your stir so that they are evenly coated. Set aside.
- In the bowl of an electric mixer, add the flour, 1 tablespoon of cinnamon, the brown and white sugars, and the oats. Give it slow mix to combine.
- Add the butter and mix all together until well combined into a crumble type texture.
- Add the apples to your skillet or casserole dish.
- Using your hands or a spoon, take the crumble mixture and sprinkle on top of the apples. Don't worry about perfection here - just try to get it as evenly around as possible.
- Bake at 375F for about 40 minutes or until the desired tenderness of the apples is reached and the crumble topping is nice and golden brown.
