Yes, you read that correctly.

Taco.

Pizza.

And yes, it is everything you’ve ever wanted in your entire life. All the best things we love about tacos on top of a beautiful pizza crust. Could there really be anything better?

It’s really quite simple, especially if you use a premade pizza crust. You’ll start by spreading some refried beans over  the raw pizza dough to serve as your pizza sauce. Then sprinkle on the taco meat and lots of cheese and bake. Then top with any number of desired toppings – lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole or sliced avocado, chives, olives, bell peppers, green chilis, queso, more cheese… you name it! Round, square, triangle… the shape doesn’t matter, but trust me o trust me the taste does.

Taco Pizza

An easy and delicious way to enjoy all the flavors you love about tacos on a premade pizza crust. Add whatever toppings you'd like, and you've got a super simple and amazingly quick weeknight dinner that is sure to be a crowd pleasing favorite!

Prep Time 30 minutes
Cook Time 25 minutes

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Premade pizza dough - we like the pillsbury dough in the can.
  • 1 pound Lean Ground Beef
  • Packet of Taco Seasoning
  • Refried Beans - enough to spread on pizza dough
  • 1/2-2/3 cups Grated Cheese to sprinkle on top of meat - use a mix of cheddar, pepper jack, monetary.

Topping Suggestions:

  • Lettuce, any type, shredded or cut up
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Diced Onions
  • Sliced Jalapenos
  • Sliced avocado
  • Chives
  • Cilantro
  • Red/Green bell peppers
  • Black beans, drained/rinsed
  • Salsa or pico de gallo
  • Sour Cream

Instructions
 

  • Brown the hamburger meat and use the taco seasoning according to instructions. Set taco meat aside.
  • Roll the pizza dough out into whatever shape you'd like. Bake according to package directions, except remove about 5-7 minutes before time is done.

  • Spread the refried beans as your bottom layer of pizza sauce.
  • Sprinkle a generous amount of the taco meat to cover the refried beans.
  • Sprinkle a generous amount of the grated cheese on top of the meat. If you'd like to add any vegetables that you want baked, throw those on there too... there are no rules here!
  • Return to the oven to let the crust finish baking and first three toppings to warm. Remove when crust is done and cheese is melty.
  • Add any toppings desired, cut and enjoy!
